Physicians’ attitude towards community pharmacists’ contribution in the treatment decision making

A collaborative physician-pharmacist relationship is a fundamental component of patient’s primary care. The aim this study was to investigate the attitude physicians toward work with community pharmacists in Sulaimani City, Iraq. cross sectional design utilized, and questionnaire sent 60 physicians, whom 47 completed questionnaire. total 26 (55.3%) stated that they had history collaboration their routine daily work. During/before treatment process, more than one-third “rarely” practiced collaboratively, one-fifth “never” collaborated. There little agreement on pharmacist’s recommendations; however, after decision by physician, higher degree reported, number who were or collaboratively decreased less 5%. Furthermore, physicians’ perspective pharmacists’ role showed advising patients drug administration (85.1%) preventing interactions (76.6%) most common duties pharmacists. Physicians agreed several barriers respect In conclusion, engagement pharmacist management relatively limited. recommendation accepted medications prescribed before during making treatment.
